This seagull fellow was hanging out on Fisherman’s Wharf, begging to be drawn!
I did this in pencil, pen, watercolors.
I recently got an airbrush, yay! I’ve been wanting one for a while. After much research, hemming and hawing I decided on the Iwata Revolution.
It is a gravity fed, airbrush with a dual-action trigger. I don’t have a compressor yet, so I’m using cans of compressed air for now. I can tell I have a lot to learn about airbrushes, my first few attempts were a mess. Now however I’m beginning to get a better feel for the proper amount of pressure, how to adjust it on the trigger and on the can of air.
I have painted my first piece with my airbrush, so, here are some pics!
I sculpted this pleasant fellow late in 2011, here are some pics of him in progress.
I used me new airbrush skills to paint and shade his skin, his teeth, eyes & horns were done with a regular old brush. I think airbrushes and I are going to have a long and happy relationship!
